Many times these childcare providers don't have the time and/or motivation to religiously continue the training process. For those toddlers, a good potty training pant is a must.
Good training pants will feel like underwear to the child, yet will keep leaks to a minimum. I have found a product that looks like it fits the bill.

The product is "Trickle Free Trainers", and can be found at Earthy Birthy Mama.com

Toot-n-Tinkle Potty Training Products

I've got to give this company credit for coming up with a catchy company name. And, their products are just plain cute.

Toot-n-Tinkle offers products ranging from training potties to timers and sticker charts. They offer a complete 'training system' that includes all of their products in one box. Sturdy and unlikely to tip over.
2. Easy to Clean
3. Fun for the child

This Potty Scotty or Potty Patty Potty Chair is a smooth, simple, light weight and portable potty that has no edges that will pinch your toddlers thighs. It is easy to clean and has a low splash guard.

It has cut outs on the fronts and sides for easy lifting. It is designed to be low to the ground to encourage the more natural squatting position for toileting.

The musical potty chair is affordable as well. The only drawback I can envision is that your toddler is likely to want to drop just about anything into it in order to make it sing!

Potty Training Toilet Seat Covers - Green and Clean Potty Protector

The Green and Clean Potty Protector seats are one of just many products designed to keep your child's hands from touching a public toilet seat. Unique to this particular seat cover is that the manufacturers say it is fully biodegradable and Earth-friendly. They come in a handy dispenser pouch for added convenience.

The only drawback I see to this particular item is that it is not lined with plastic and any moisture that might be on the seat will be absorbed right through the paper. It would probably be a good idea to wipe the seat with toilet paper before putting the cover down - an added step that might just negate the benefit of not having to touch the seat to begin with!

More information about the seat covers:

Lighthouse Wooden Potty Chair

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_sJ5KSjrt7Gw/SIuVCElG4MI/AAAAAAAAARs/i6c1nOmiTdc/s320/lighthousechair.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5227435655315251394" />
The lighthouse design wooden potty chair for toddlers is the most unique child's potty I think I've ever seen! The chair is functional, of course, but also a conversation piece and appealing to your child.

It's got a toilet paper holder and a book rack, which is a feature you'll not commonly find on toilet trainig chairs. Messy, icky, labor-intensive cloth diapers.

That's why I'm so excited about a new company and a new product called gDiapers. gDiapers are not cloth - and they are not disposable, but rather a hybrid of the two. The outside is a re-usable, washable 'cover.' The inner liner is fully bio-degradable, and the extra-cool feature is that the liners are flushable!! Take it off, drop it in the toilet, and off you go. If for some reason you live in a location where you are prohibited from flushing, you can either put the diapers in your compost pile or the trash. (When in a landfill they decompose in 50-150 days.)

One thing I really disliked when my daughter was a baby was emptying that stinky diaper pail. The thought of never having to complete that disgusting task is incredibly appealing - not to mention you can sleep better at night knowing that you are doing the best thing for our environment.

To find out more, visit the gDiapers website by clicking the banner below:

Potty Training Pee Targets for Boys

Training boys how to properly aim while on peeing in the toilet is an age-old problem. This company has developed a product that actually makes going to the potty a game!

Instead of drenching your walls or floor, little boys are potty trained by playing a target game. Just place a target in the toilet and tell your little man to take aim! Rice paper potty training targets dissolve when wet, so there's nothing for you to clean. Just flush everything away!

Soon, he'll be asking to go to the bathroom (which means no more diapers for you!).

You can find the targets at Moms On Edge.com for $9.97 for a pack of 50. (I figure the $10 will likely save about 20 loads of laundry when he pees on the bathroom rug.!)

My Throne Potty Training Game

What better way to toilet train your child than to somehow make it into a game??
That is exactly what the manufacturer of this product has accomplished.

My Throne Potty Training Game

There are few things in your toddler's life they can ultimately and completely control…learning to use the toilet is one of them.

By using a simple game format, My ThroneTM Potty Training Game cooperatively engages your toddler in a stepwise approach to learning to use the toilet. My ThroneTM goes beyond videos and charts to involve your child through an interactive and fun motivational game. The folks at www.pottysong.com have come up with a downloadable, personalized, song that helps with potty training. Every time your child goes potty, you can play this song to celebrate their achievement! I'll warn you, though...the tune is catchy enough that it is likely to get stuck in your head.

According to their website, benefits of the song are:

The Potty Song generates excitement through a personalized, upbeat and easy to remember song that speaks directly to the potty training child.

Toddlers at the potty training age know their name and get excited about a song made just for them.

The Potty Song is so catchy that it’s hard for a toddler to get it out of his head. This reminds him that he wants to hear it again which in turn reminds him that he needs to use the potty in order to make that happen.

The length of the song is just right for the attention span of toddlers. Toddlers get so excited to hear the song, but it’s short enough to leave them wanting more. The desire to hear it again and again generates motivation to use the potty again and again.

Singing the song together can be a fun bonding experience for parent and child. This adds to the excitement and increases motivation to repeat the process.

Unlike candy or prizes (other popular motivational tools), you always have The Potty Song with you (even if you have to sing it without the CD). Also, candy and prizes create an added cost and create a reward system that is materially oriented…not relationally oriented like The Potty Song.

Everything Potty Training Yahoo! It's the "My Pee Pee Bottle". The bottle looks like a drinking bottle (make sure you keep it out of your kitchen!!) and is specially designed to catch your little boy's or little girl's urine. The manufacturer of the product claims the following benefits:

* Reduces time in the restroom
▫ No need for toilet seat covers or replacement covers
▫ More sanitary than toilet seat covers
▫ Prevents the child’s clothes from getting wet
▫ Acts as an emergency toilet when traveling
▫ No need to entirely take off shoes, skirt/pants/shorts or underwear
▫ Packs easily into a diaper bag, even a purse (approximately 7")
▫ Eco-friendly as it's reusable and washes out easily with soap and water or an
antibacterial agent
▫ Leak-proof and odor proof
▫ Works for girls and boys
▫ Reinforces potty training habits such as child asking to use restroom while out, vs.placing child in a diaper to avoid restroom
▫ Smaller than portable potty seats
▫ Some children fear public restroom toilets
▫ Save more money by not having to buy expensive diapers
▫ Run your errands and not have to carry a heavy diaper bag

On the "My Pee Pee Bottle website there is a section on "how to" use the product with a couple of photographs to demonstrate the procedure.

I imagine that parents who have a strong aversion to public restrooms might find this product helpful. I don't know how excited I'd be about a bottle of pee when there is a toilet nearby! On the other hand, this seems like a perfect product to keep in the back of your car for those sporadic "emergencies."

Check out the product website at www.mypeepeebottle.com

Potty Training Children With Autism

Amazon.com

Toilet training children with autism is not nearly as straightforward as training a non-autistic toddler. Individuals with autism are reportedly one of the most difficult populations to toilet train.

This book by Maria Wheeler offers effective strategies that take the childs sensibilities into account instead of trying to force traditional methods. Tips, case examples, and cautions help make the process more of a lesson and less of a battle for all involved.

One parent who read the book says "I have a 3 and a half year old son was diagnosed with (high functioning) Autistic Spectrum Disorder last month. While we're still dealing with the shock of the diagnosis, it was a relief to read that children with ASD are among the hardest to train. We have been attempting toilet learning for the past two years using "traditional" methods and have not had one single success. What a relief to find out that these traditional methods do not work well with autistic children! We are looking forward to working with my son's teachers using the methods described in the book. The book is also a good overview of problems people with Autism have in the toileting arena - we now have a better idea of what potential problems my son may have later (ie, using public restrooms) and feel empowered by the strategies suggested in dealing with them BEFORE they happen."

I found the book at Amazon.com and Potty Training Concepts

'The Potty Dance' Personalized Potty Training Book for Children

The Reality:
So your little Poopy Pants stubbornly refuses to show interest in the potty. You tried gift wrapping the potty and giving it as a present, rewarding him with stickers and candy, showcasing family members and the UPS guy doing a live demonstration, but you've still got bubkes in the little blue pot. Until the Peter Potty®, no new products have emerged to specifically encourage early potty training for boys. The Peter Potty®, the world’s only flushable toddler urinal from Visionaire Products Inc., effectively encourages boysto become interested in potty training at a younger age. In addition, it empowers them to be able to stand and go potty by themselves, just like Dad does.

According to a study published by the American Academy of Pediatrics, on average, boys do not master potty training until after their third birthday. With the Peter Potty®, parents find on average, boys achieve this milestone 6 months earlier; with some as much as 15 months earlier.

In addition, the normal stresses for both parents and child are reduced, as it is natural for boys to stand while going potty. The stand-up factor of the Peter Potty® can be a key aspect in the early potty training of boys. Most two-year old boys have mastered the motor skills needed to lower their pants and training underwear partially, while standing. In contrast, the motor skills required to lower their pants and underwear to their ankles (necessary for sitting on a traditional potty chair) are not developed until they are much older. Little boys also delight in the added reward of having the ability to flush the potty themselves, and eventually use the Peter Potty® without adult supervision.

Parents also appreciate the fact that the Peter Potty® saves money by speeding up the training process. Using a Peter Potty®, to eliminate even one month of training, saves parents approximately $45 in diaper costs, not to mention when potty training occurs 6-15 months sooner!
